SWC: Final Re-arranged due to weather conditions

The Speedway World Cup final we had all been waiting for was postponed after four heats due to heavy rain making the track too dangerous too ride. The event has been re-arranged for 3pm CET tomorrow (Sunday August 1st). The races from today will be null and void so the points will start afresh tomorrow. Poland were in 3rd after four heats with Hampel finishing 2nd in his heat.

SWC: Poland through to the final!

Round 1 of the Speedway World Cup took place in sunny conditions and it was a big success for Poland! They blitzed the opposition and set a record for the most points scored in the event (68)! The Poles were in superb form, winning 19 of the 25 races. Hampel dropped just 1 point to Kenneth Bjerre and scored 14. Poland have now qualified for the World Cup Final in Vojens on Saturday and will wait to see who their opponents are.

SWC Round 1-Postponed

Unfortunately, due to extreme heavy rain, the first round of the Speedway World Cup which should have taken place today at Gorzow, has had to be re-arranged for Sunday 26th July at 3pm CET. This will see Poland line up against Denmark, Czech Republic and Russia.

Vetlanda - Valsarna 63:33

Vetlanda schorched to a massive win over Valsarna! They remain in second place in the Swedish Elitserien. Hampel had a great night's work, 14 points, just dropping the one point to Daniel Nermark. Final score Vetlanda 63-33 Valsarna.

Toruń - Leszno 51:39
|
|
Leszno suffered their second defeat of the season with a loss to Torun 51-39. Gorzow are now leading the Polish Extraliga with Leszno in 2nd place. It was dominant win from Torun and the Leszno team didn't have enough riders hitting double figures. Hampel scored 10 points from 6 rides.

The semi-finals of the Polish championship took place at Kroszno and Lodz. Hampel's meeting was at Lodz and was affected by the rain. It wasn't the best of starts for Jaro with a 3rd place but he picked up two wins, which put him through to the final. After 5 rides, Hampel finished with 11 points. The meeting was won by Kasprzak. The final will take place at Zielona Gora.
