More news from training in Gorican

More practising has taken place in Croatia for Hampel and the team. The weather wasn't as pleasant as previously but it didn't affect any of the riders from their training. Leszno manager Jankowski has declared that his riders have spend several days practising their starts from the gate. Jarek Hampel was also given an opportunity to test new silencers and compare them to what had been used previously.

Unia Leszno take to track again!

Since the 24th February, Hampel and his Unia Leszno team, have been at the track in Gorican, Croatia. Conditions in Croatia at this time of the year are excellent to practice in, sunny and warm with the temperature around 15 degrees. The first days practices lasted approximately 2 hours each, one session 10 am and the other one at 3pm. There is of course more practice planned in Croatia!

Hampel in Italy on motocross!

Since the Polish winter's are very harsh, it basically prevents from any training on speedway tracks due to the extreme weather conditions. To get back on track as soon as possible, many riders head to Southern Europe. This is what Jarek has done, so on Saturday he went to Italy for an intensive practice on a moto-cross bike! Extreme winter training on a snowy roof!

Despite the hard, cold winter, Hampel took to a very different training session for his first time on the bike this year. However this was no usual practice on a speedway track, this was on the more extreme surface on snow on top of Katowice Spodek. This was on the roof of the Katowice Sports Building - ten storeys high, very spectacular! This was done in promotion of Jarek's sponsor Red Bull.

Hampel 2nd in Sports Poll Panorama in Leszno

At Leszno city hall yesterday, the results were announced in the poll for the most popular sportsmen and sportswomen in the Leszno region. Jarek Hampel got 2nd place in the poll and just lost out to athlete Anita Wlodarczyk Rawicz.
